I’m Telling! She Said a Bad Word!

Jesus H Christ.
Bet you’re freaking out already 😉
But let’s get our thinking caps on… What does the H stand for? I did a bit of asking round before actually researching this, as I think it’s quite interesting to see what people come up with off the tops of their heads… i.e. if they were to hear it in conversation, what would they think of? Stop here and have a quick think- and drop me a comment with what you come up with… If you’re brave enough 😉
…aaand we continue.
So- by far the top of the list was Holy. I.e. Jesus Holy Christ.
Can’t argue with that one really….makes sense I guess to make the link to the theme the name is linked to.
And the other most commonly suggested was Hell (or Herod, as in King Herod). The reasoning around this was that as it used in a blasphemous context, something degrading would be used. Extra points for that one as there is an element of truth to it.
Well, turning to the internet- the above were certainly featured.
As was this one…”Haploid”, i.e. Jesus had no father, so all genetic information would have come from his mother. (Interesting)
However the most prolific. And by far the most hilarious… was this… brace yourselves:
According to several sources, it comes from a misinterpretation of the Lord’s Prayer. You know… “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name”… misheard as “Harold be thy name!” Hahahaha comedy gold!
Jesus Harold Christ xD
Anyway, I just had to share 🙂
